Where homeowners come before they get taken to the cleaners.

I'm Duane Holloway — some folks call me Mr. Get-R-Done. Thirty-five years on jobsites, co-founder of a Texas custom home company, and the guy your architect wishes you hadn't met. I teach the two systems and the one contract the construction industry doesn't want you to understand.

I might sound country. I've built more homes than your architect has drawn.

Who this is for

Two kinds of folks are welcome here.

01

Homeowners building their forever home.

You've saved for years. You're about to hand a builder six or seven figures. You deserve to understand every line of the estimate, every material choice, and every way the industry tries to protect itself at your expense.

  • What ICF is and why it matters more than the countertops
  • How to spot a bad contract before you sign it
  • What "cost-plus" really means and why it's the honest way to build

02

Custom builders ready to level up.

You already build well. You want to move up-market into ICF, engineered steel, and high-performance envelopes without eating your margins learning it the hard way. I've made every one of those mistakes so you don't have to.

  • How to bid ICF jobs without leaving money on the table
  • Engineered light-gauge steel framing done right
  • Selling cost-plus to a stick-frame client base

What you'll learn

Three pillars. Zero fluff.

I.

ICF Walls

Insulated Concrete Forms — the reason your future home can shrug off tornadoes, cut your energy bill in half, and outlive its mortgage twice over. I'll show you what good ICF work looks like and what the shortcuts cost you.

II.

Engineered Light-Gauge Steel

Straight, tight, termite-proof, fireproof. Steel framing is what your builder would use on his own house. We'll break down when to use it, how it's installed, and how it changes the way your home performs for the next hundred years.

III.

Cost-Plus Contracting

The one contract structure where the builder has to show his math. Open books, honest margins, no games. Once you understand it, you'll never let anyone hand you a fixed-price bid with hidden padding again.

About Duane

Thirty-five years on jobsites. Zero patience for bad information.

I started framing houses before most of the builders in my market were born. Since then I've been an oilfield electrician, a superintendent on multi-story projects, a VP of Operations, and now the co-founder of Visten Construction Group — a luxury custom home builder in North Texas.

I'm also a licensed Carbonless Builder through Brian Iverson's carbonless.org network. I've built homes in Belize and Ireland. I've made mistakes that cost me sleep and found solutions that changed the way I build forever.

People from up North sometimes hear the drawl and think I'm not too bright. That's their mistake to make. This channel is where I hand you the same knowledge your builder has — so nobody gets to fool you on your own jobsite ever again.
